Be Present&lt;br&gt; Live in the now. The past is gone. You can never go back and make it right. You can never re-live a life that was yesterday. Live positively in the present moment, no matter what is occurring. It is All right and perfect. Do not look ahead and dread what may come. Our mind creates a lot of chatter and makes us afraid in order to keep us safe. Tell your mind "Thanks for sharing" and affirm "I am here, I am present". You are always at choice and you know how to make this day beautiful. &lt;p&gt; 2. Nature&lt;br&gt; Sit on the lawn or next to a tree. Feel the pulse of the earth, the grandeur of the sky, the coolness of the breeze on your face, or the warmth of the sun on your face. Smile at nature, say hello to the bugs and all the animals you meet. Take a walk in a park or hike on a trail. &lt;p&gt; 3. Exercise&lt;br&gt; Daily exercise gives you a break from ! your mind chatter, helps pump your heart, circulates your blood, clears toxins from your body, charges you with energy and has many other benefits. Choose an activity that is fun and mix it up. Do walking one day and yoga another day. Take a Tai Chi class and meet new people. The list of possibilities is endless. &lt;p&gt; 4. Spirituality&lt;br&gt; Recognize and know you are important and unique. Meditate, or sit quietly, and be in the moment. Read books that are uplifting and have positive messages. Give thanks for your health, your home, your friends, all the joy and happiness in your life and all the good that surrounds you. &lt;p&gt; 5. Forgiveness&lt;br&gt; It is time to let it go. Forgive all parts of yourself to be whole and perfect. Forgive yourself for any past mistakes or shortcomings; forgive the child within for being afraid; forgive the teenager that spoke words of anger; forgive the young adult for not being a risk taker. Success is a direct result of applying the right principles to your professional life and your personal life. The question is what are the right principles to apply in order to achieve success? Over the years of studying, four primary principles of success continue to surface from the ancient writers. I call these four principles the triangle of success. &lt;p&gt; The "triangle" of success because one principle is placed at each corner of the triangle and the crucial principle is positioned in the heart of the triangle. The heart of the triangle is what promises success to the other three principles. &lt;p&gt; The other three principles at the corner of the triangles embody the essence of men and women. You will see what I am talking about as I unfold these three. &lt;p&gt; Mind&lt;br&gt; The first corner of the triangle is your thinking process; or in other ! words exercising your mind. Learning is a necessary step towards growing. Growth is imperative to achieve success. Aristotle puts it succinctly, he writes, "It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it." &lt;p&gt; Success follows the ability to analyze a subject, make sound judgments while moving toward your objectives. "You are to be a student, not a follower", says Jim Rohn. That is exactly what professionals are, they are students. Success is the goal; therefore, continuous training, instruction, and being mentored is the process. &lt;p&gt; Those who are successful pay the price. They apply the disciplines of learning. They have placed value on education and training. I, personally, think that if you are a student, always applying the disciplines of learning, that your philosophies of life will be improving, better ideas come to your thinking, which all leads to success. &lt;p&gt; Education is something that no one can ever take away from you. It helps to develop and define who you are. &lt;p&gt; "The best of all things is to learn. Money can be lost or stolen, health and strength may fail, but what you have committed to your mind is yours forever." &lt;br&gt; --Louis L'Amour (1908-1988) &lt;p&gt; Emotions&lt;br&gt; Your emotion is the second corner of the triangle. Passionately pursuing after your objectives leads to success. This is not to say that your objectives come before people in your life, but the principle is to be well taken-success is dependent on your inner drive to achieve it. &lt;p&gt; The truth is, you will do what you want to do. If you want something bad enough you will dwell on it all of the time doing whatever is necessary to reach your goal. That is passion. Kahlil Gibran said, "All that spirits desire, spirits attain." &lt;p&gt; Perhaps G. W. F. Hegel says is best, "Nothing great in the world has ever been accomplished without passion." You see what I mean when I said above that these principles surface every where I studied? These are the principles that made men and women great. &lt;p&gt; The reasons that they do surface is that these principles are at the core of who and what we are made of inside. You were designed with a purpose and the driving force within you motivates you to accomplish your purpose in life. &lt;p&gt; "Dwell not upon thy weariness, thy strength shall be according to the measure of thy desire." &lt;br&gt;Arab Proverb &lt;p&gt; Will&lt;br&gt; The third corner of the triangle is your will. Eventually, you have to step out and do what you desire. If you never decide to reach for your dream, you will remain in the stands with the majority of people in life. &lt;p&gt; Perhaps you have fear, hurt, or insecurity, holding you back; if you permit these or any others to control your actions success stands aloof. A mentor at this point may be more helpful, than, reading a book or two. At times we need someone to hold us accountable so that we will do the necessary follow through. &lt;p&gt; Depending on your temperament exercising your will towards your objectives may take a lot of courage, but courage is what guarantees that these others will work. If you don't have the courage to start you never will know, now will you? &lt;p&gt; I can not stress it strong enough that taking action is one of the most important principles to achieving your dreams. Jim Rohn, says, "Some are always picking the fruit, while others are always, examining the roots." Consistent action will produce results. It is the law of sowing and reaping. You reap what you sow, in other words, you get what you deserve, not what you need. Plant enough seeds and you will find growth. It is the law of ratio. Ask enough people and someone will join or buy. &lt;p&gt; "The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather in a lack of will." &lt;br&gt; - Vincent T. Lombardi &lt;p&gt; Perseverance&lt;br&gt; Now, what is in the heart or center of the triangle that will enable you to succeed? Every successful person has this. Do you know? I will give you a clue it begins with a P, now you fill in the blank, P&amp;#95;&amp;#95;&amp;#95;&amp;#95;&amp;#95;&amp;#95;&amp;#95;&amp;#95;&amp;#95;&amp;#95;. It is perseverance! Perseverance is the inner strength to get back into the battle after you have been wounded. As I observe those who succeed and those who don't, it appears to me that the difference is in perseverance. &lt;p&gt; Those with perseverance don't stop until they reach their goal. They are relentless! Just when you thought they were down and out this time, sure as the world, they manage, some how, to get back up again. &lt;p&gt; I love to visit Chocolate World. It is located in Hershey, PA. They make, obviously, Hershey's chocolate. You get to take a tour to see how they make all of that chocolate and at the end of the ride you get a piece of free chocolate and/or the opportunity to buy all the chocolate you want. But, the significant part of the tour is reading "bits and pieces" of Milton Hershey's life (the founder). He, like so many others, failed three times in the business world, before he was successful. He had a dream and would not let go of it. &lt;p&gt; Was he ever discouraged? You know he was. Did he ever want to quit? Who doesn't? Did others talk bad about him? I think some still do. However, those are not the right questions to ask. Better questions are: "Did he quit?" And "What kept him from quitting?" Or, "How did he persevere?" &lt;p&gt; No, he did not give up. He persevered through the hard times and some unbearable problems. How did he do that? What kept him going? The same way thousand's of others did it. The big "P" was in the center of the triangle. Perseverance was the heart of their passion, attitude, and will. &lt;p&gt; Napolean Hill captures the three corners of the triangle when he writes, "Create a definite plan for carrying out your desire and begin at once, whether you ready or not, to put this plan into action." As you add perseverance to this success formula it is one sure way to, at least, do your part to succeed. There are never any promises how life will turn out, but one thing for sure, neglect the right principles and you are removing the possibilities of success. &lt;p&gt; I will conclude with the words of Abraham Lincoln, "Always bear in mind that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any one thing." &lt;p&gt; Author Bio&lt;br&gt; Dr. John E. That means that sometimes we may have to say NO to important activities in order to attend to even more important activities that will enable us to accomplish higher priorities. &lt;p&gt; When we embark on a journey and we aren't sure how to get there, we typically jot down travel directions. So why are we so resistant to jotting down personal or professional goals or choices that would provide a road map - or at least a compass -- for our lives? &lt;p&gt; I work with a lot of small business owners and professionals including coaches, consultants, doctors, lawyers, and CPAs. For those in the service industry, time IS money. To be profitable in their work, they must learn to limit their investment of time if there will be a limited return on that investment. &lt;p&gt; Of course, money is just one way to measure the returns. A "return on investment" of time may also yield an emotionally healthy and well-adjusted child, a deeply satisfying marriage, or a beautiful garden. The key is to get clear about what's most important to you, and then march forth! &lt;p&gt; Several years ago I was talking with someone at a business luncheon, and at the end of our conversation he wished me a happy March Forth. I considered this to be a bit odd at the time, but I didn't give it much more thought. A couple days later -- on March 4th -- I received a homemade card from him. The cover of the card contained a picture of a beautiful waterfall. The inside of the card read, "Thunderous and powerful, yet oh so beautiful! May your power within thunder out, as you march forth and realize all your dreams. Happy March Fourth ." It wasn't until I received his card that I caught the literary ploy. &lt;p&gt; Today, as I think about those words - march forth! - I also think about something my colleague, Harold Taylor, says: "Major projects will never be finished if they are never started. The key to getting things done is to get things started. Pick a date and time and stick to it." Within each of us is the ability to choose harmony and peace over dissonance and vengeful, fear-based reactions to the circumstances of life. If we choose to follow our hearts and listen to our spirits, we can choose a better way of thinking and acting. We will have an impact and lasting effect on others and the world around us. &lt;p&gt; So if you want to live a blissful life, you have to be the embodiment of bliss and all the universal components that connect you to bliss. Don't just externalize what you want. Make it your essence. You have to become what you seek-be the essence of what you desire. Without fear, just be your amazing self, an embodiment of the facets of bliss. Let these things be true for you: &lt;p&gt; 1. Be Forgiveness&lt;br&gt; You have learned to be in a state of clemency and kindness for others always. It has become your nature to automatically forgive without a second thought. It is now part of your soul, your essence, your core to act with mercy and pardon for all those who unknowingly bestow pain and suffering toward you. You hold dear the words of Jesus, as he hung, crucified upon the cross; "Forgive them Father, for they know not what they do." &lt;p&gt; You are continually exercising forgiveness in your daily life and are able to receive forgiveness from those you have trespassed against. You walk in the grace of the heavens because you know nothing can be more blissful than to know that God smiles down upon you. You are forgiveness and your soul has been forgiven. &lt;p&gt; 2. Be Love&lt;br&gt; You have opened your heart and mind to the divine possibility that everything vibrates at certain levels. You understand lower vibrations of negativity, anger and fear, and higher vibrations of love and compassion. People can feel the "vibes" in the air and they are contagious. You send vibrations of love and joy from the depths of your heart and soul. You find, in turn, you have an effect on the world around you. You don't just talk about loving the earth and mankind, you feel it in your being. Combating the feelings of fear, anger, vengeance and negativity, you have replaced them with thoughts and actions of kindness and love, and live in harmony and bliss with everyone around you and the world. &lt;p&gt; 3. Be Peace&lt;br&gt; You have peace in your life because you practice peace, every moment of every day. You do not forget your center and the knowledge that peace is only a state of mind-a choice you make. You are quiet and calm and do not become reactive but are active. Close your eyes and breathe in the calmness of the universe. You have planted the seeds of peace deep within, and bliss blossoms from your soul. &lt;p&gt; 4. Be Beauty&lt;br&gt; Beauty is much more than skin deep-it radiates from inside our souls. Knowing that, you are not afraid to let your tender, creative self shine through. You are joyful and spread happiness. You forgive and are peaceful. Your true inner beauty is seen. You have learned to be loving and true to yourself. Affectionately, you allow your beautiful self to radiate from the depths of your soul. You truly know the essence of your inner splendor and do not keep it hidden within you, but let it shine through for all to see. Because you connect with your inner beauty, people see you as a beautiful person. You inspire others to allow themselves to be beautiful. &lt;p&gt; 5. Be Powerful&lt;br&gt; You speak your truth with integrity. Standing in your power means to know yourself and what you are doing at all times. With honesty and truth, you stand for who and what you believe in. You respect and appreciate others' opinions and values. You look for a harmonious solution to every situation. You speak with wisdom, not spite. You stay loyal and true to your values and morals. Without fear, you move forward, generously leading the way for those less courageous than yourself. You radiate love and security, and inspire blissfulness and courage through your actions. &lt;p&gt; 6. Be Patience&lt;br&gt; You are willing to wait and accept the quiet times between action and results. There is no sense of urgency or rush, for you know that scuttling and hurry only leads to stress and dissonance. There is calmness about you as you quietly go about your busy day. Not lazy at all, you are very productive, but cool and exacting in action. You realize life is meant to be savored and those who speed through miss out on the glories of existence. You live in the moment and savor every second of your gift of life. At the end of a hectic day, you are still full of vigor and zeal, for you have not wasted precious energy on hurry, worry and stress. You are looked up to and many seek your counsel, no matter what your position in work, school, community or family may be. You are patient, calm and peaceful. Your powerful essence draws others to you. &lt;p&gt; 7. Be Abundance&lt;br&gt; You know the meaning of abundance is not being monetarily rich, but wealthy with bliss. You are filled with love, peace, joy and harmony. You spread your abundance selflessly to all you come in contact with. You are a sage, a prophet and a preacher of love and happiness. You empower and motivate through your shining example the knowledge that we need not be rich to have lavish abundance in our lives. &lt;p&gt; You are forever grateful for what you have and you constantly show your appreciation and respect for those who help you and to the heavens above. You are a pillar of strength and wisdom and freely share the lessons of life you have learned. You have no expectations of others, but endeavor to experience what everyone and what life has to offer. You walk humbly with an open heart, greeting everyone as brothers and sisters on this journey of life. You are a shining example of how people should live-not perfect, just striving to be better than you were yesterday. &lt;p&gt; As we endeavor to walk the path of bliss-to act out of spirit for the good of all-we venture out alone. We must have the courage to stand true, to know the potential of blissful living. Courage is not the absence of fear, but the ability to move forward into uncertainty while facing your fears. Just the act of commitment and effort will bring you the power to adapt and change. &lt;p&gt; Know that you will lose some friends, but gain many more. Know you can light the path but you can never make someone walk the road. Not everyone will understand your commitment to living a better life. Most will not have the courage or the will to change their habits and know themselves for who they are. Stand in your truth with integrity and fortitude. Don't fear what others may think. Seek encouragement, wisdom and praise from inside. Know that by following your heart, you will inspire others to follow their own hearts too. They seek solace in the next best thing, person or position they can find, but always end up frustrated and wondering why they are not truly happy. It is a conundrum of sorts. Sadly, it is self-perpetuating. Stress, negativity and unpleasant reactions to everyday situations only beget more of the same experiences on a deeper level. This, of course, creates undue stress on your body, mind and spirit. &lt;p&gt; Letting the stress of unplanned or unwanted events influence the way you react to and view the world will always lead to turmoil. Living with a mind-set of negativity and fear will blind you to the miraculous flow of bliss, which is within and around you always. &lt;p&gt; I spent the better part of twenty years frustrated and unhappy with my life. Although I accomplished much more than I could ever have imagined possible, I still lived in a state of dissatisfaction. One would think being a Navy SEAL (the elite special warfare unit) would have been the pinnacle of my life, but I looked upon my military profession with disdain. Then I was living my childhood dream, playing guitar in a rock band, but irritability and aggravation permeated the mood of that environment. Years later, while running my scuba diving company, a day job that many people envied, I felt only petulance and exasperation. I dated many great women from all walks of life, but all my relationships ended in disaster. I moved from state to state, career to career and woman to woman, with no psychological or emotional liberation. I felt lost and I was suffering. I was wasting this precious life and something had to change. And one day, it did. &lt;p&gt; I often hiked to help temporarily alleviate the stress in my life. Being in the mountains took me to another place where I could, if only for a short time, escape the turmoil of my life. Waking up one morning angrier and more stressed than usual, I decided to forego work and hike a mountain near my home. As I stomped my way to the top, each footstep reverberated with anger. Hiking always helped relieve my anxiety, but I was finding little release this day. I knew I could not go on living like this. I had to figure something out, and fast. For almost a decade, I was unhappy and frustrated with wherever I was and with whatever I was doing. I knew my own choices had brought me to where I was, but that only made me feel worse. I had made the choices, so I must have deserved to feel that way. Despite my best efforts, I was not where I thought I would be. My business was extremely time-consuming and stressful, money always seemed short, my relationships were disastrous and I felt utterly alone in the world. &lt;p&gt; When I reached the summit, I found a quiet place to sit and think. I looked out and took in the beauty of the mountains and lakes. The warm summer breeze felt good on my face, and the many sounds of nature slightly quieted my mind and eased my tension. Exhausted, I laid back on a huge boulder to relax. I felt helpless and I prayed for an answer to come my way. My head was pounding so I closed my eyes and quickly fell asleep. I woke about forty minutes later, feeling kind of strange. &lt;p&gt; As I refocused my vision out over the breathtaking landscape, everything seemed surreal. It was so quiet, peaceful and unaffected by the chaotic state of the world. It was as if my worries and frustration were still sleeping. For a moment I thought perhaps I was just dreaming, but I was not. I wondered why life could not be this peaceful all the time. I took a deep breath and felt myself expanding into the vastness of the mountains. For the moment, I was on top of the world. Anything seemed feasible, and my mind was open to all the amazing possibilities of what I could do and be. I was elated-in a pure state of momentary ecstasy. If only it could last. &lt;p&gt; Quietly relishing the moment, I had what some might call an epiphany. I realized that all my problems were still waiting for me at the bottom of this mountain. Nothing had changed, yet something seemed very different. Why was I so happy here and now on the top of this mountain, but not happy at the bottom? &lt;p&gt; I sat thinking about this for a while, and then something occurred to me. I had heard it many times before, but never really grasped the concept. Bliss is a state of mind-a choice, a simple choice. While sleeping on the mountain, I had unconsciously connected with the flowing bliss of life. What if I actively chose to stay in this state as I hiked down the trail? Would it work, could it work? I decided to try. I figured if I could mentally bring myself back to this spot whenever I began to feel stressed or overwhelmed, I could reconnect with that feeling of bliss. &lt;p&gt; Before I left the serene summit for the turbid waters of normal life, I captured the essence of the moment in my head. I took a mental snapshot of the scenery, the smells, the sounds, and how I felt at that moment in time-empty of stress, full of peace. What I did next was the key to my success; in my mind, I created a Bliss Box-a special gold box for that moment to exist. In it, I put the embodiment of everything that helped to create the perfect peace I felt. I tied up the box with a gold ribbon and placed it on a storage shelf in my mind. I knew I could count on opening it later, and in the days that followed I was thoroughly amazed to find how well my Bliss Box worked. &lt;p&gt; Sometimes you can't control the situations you find yourself in, but you can control your emotions and your actions. By creating your own Bliss Box, you can find peace and harmony any time you choose. &lt;p&gt; It is said that to be human is to suffer, and yes this world can be a painful, harsh place. But it is the way you look at things that dictates the circumstances surrounding your life and the way you perceive the world. Contentment comes from within, and no amount of searching or material gain will lead you to blissful living. People will give you their undying respect as long as they recognise that you portray these 3 key attributes: trustworthiness, integrity and mindfulness. Because having these qualities demonstrates your level of consciousness and maturity. &lt;p&gt; When people respect you, it is easier to get their support. Getting people to give you continuous support, also requires you to apply yourself. Here are ways to help you make an impact on people whom you want respect and support from. &lt;p&gt; 1. Be exuberant and passionate about what you do and your life.&lt;br&gt;People love those who exude vibrancy and passion about their life, particularly about what they do. Think of this: how stimulating do you find people who are forever talking about their "great ideas" and what they want to do and yet, never starting anything? Now that's a damper! &lt;p&gt; 2. Be unique and individualistic in your views and opinions. &lt;br&gt;Are you unique and stand out with your own style and personality? If you are afraid to voice your opinion, and would rather fit in, I can assure you that it will be difficult to command respect from others. And without respect, no support. This doesn't mean that you have to constantly come up with new innovations. It simply implies that you don't suck up to people, just because you want validation. The best validation is to be true to yourself. &lt;p&gt; 3. Be a great listener. All great listeners are magnetic and charismatic. &lt;br&gt;There is no charm that equals that of a good listener. Here is an experience I had in a restaurant with my husband not too long ago. I noticed that my husband was fascinated by a woman sitting a few tables way from us. &lt;p&gt; When I asked him what got him so fascinated about her. He replied that the woman was just fascinating to watch, because she was listening so intently to her partner. Her eyes were on him, as she leaned forward, giving him her feedback, and at the same time not interrupting him. While she let him know that she was hearing him, she also held up her end of the conversation. &lt;p&gt; Then my husband said something remarkable: "She's the kind of woman I normally wouldn't pay attention to on the street, but while sitting there, listening and being interested the way she's doing now, makes her attractive." &lt;p&gt; True listening embodies careful attention, patience and honestly wanting to understand what the other person is saying. It also fosters good relationship. &lt;p&gt; 4. Be a life long student. Let people know that you're willing to learn from them and be genuine about it. &lt;br&gt;Learning is growing, and growing is learning. You cannot learn all by yourself. To truly grow, you need others along the way. And when you show people your willingness and enthusiasm to learn from them, you'll be amazed how helpful and happy they will be to support you. &lt;p&gt; Be open and get to know people who are different from you. If you're interested in something, never be afraid to ask questions. You won't be ridiculed for showing real interest. &lt;p&gt; Do you know people who have stopped learning? Do you find them interesting to have around? Probably not! So do yourself the favour of becoming an avid learner. &lt;p&gt; 5. Be authentic and reliable.&lt;br&gt;Before you make a promise, make sure you can deliver. Keeping your word is very crucial to building trust and credibility. There's nothing more detrimental to your image, than having people believing in you and letting them down. &lt;p&gt; There are times you may genuinely try to fulfil your promise and it just doesn't work out. In that case, be honest about it and apologize. No one will hold that against you. &lt;p&gt; 6. Be generous. &lt;br&gt;A generous heart gives freely without having any expectactions. Don't try to buy people's loyalty or support. It will backfire on you! You will reap more benefit and reward from giving truly from your heart, rather than being calculating. Even if you don't get something in return, the eternal laws of reciprocity will find a way to balance things out for you and give you your dues. &lt;p&gt; 7. Be direct and have boundaries.&lt;br&gt;When you have something to say, just say it and let people know where you stand. Letting people know what you want and don't want, liberates you and those around you. Don't allow people to walk all over you. Let them know your boundaries. &lt;p&gt; For instance, to avoid lying about a proposition which may not interest you, an appropriate answer could be: "I'm sorry that doesn't work for me right now". This is a straightforward and truthful answer making it easy for you and for others to move on. &lt;p&gt; In conclusion, do you trust and respect yourself? If you don't, no one else will. This especially means be true to yourself and what you believe in. We all want the same things, good health, positive relationships, fulfilling career, and enough money to live comfortably. But, there are others that want a life of abundance and prosperity. These are the ones that have dreams of doing great things, having successful businesses, visiting interesting places, meeting extraordinary people, and having the ability to help others financially. &lt;p&gt; If you are going to enjoy a life of abundance and prosperity it will require some action. This should be obvious. But, sometimes the obvious is frequently overlooked. &lt;p&gt; You didn't get to where you are today without taking some sort of action. So, it makes sense that if you have a vision in your head about where you would like to be in the future, it will require action. &lt;p&gt; The problem with most people is, even though they may have the knowledge to do some particular thing, they lack putting the necessary action behind that knowledge. &lt;p&gt; We often hear that "knowledge is power." But, knowledge is really only power in reserve. It remains useless if it's not tapped into by applying action. Knowledge that is not put to action remains just knowledge in your head and provides no benefit. It's completely wasted. &lt;p&gt; To accomplish results, we must couple our knowledge with the necessary action to attain results. The formula for achieving results is: Knowledge x Action = Result. If you were to apply massive action to your knowledge, it would have a faster, and even greater impact on your life. &lt;p&gt; Why is it that most people find it difficult to put the necessary action behind their knowledge? I believe it is nothing more than a lack of belief. &lt;p&gt; Your belief system is the driving force behind your behaviors and your results. If you can change your beliefs, you will change your behaviors. When you change your behaviors, you will change your results. Then, when you change your results, you will change your life. &lt;p&gt; It all starts with your belief system. Jesus said, "If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes" (Mark 9:23). &lt;p&gt; Now, many things can keep one from believing. But, I think the biggest factor that keeps one from believing is fear. It is a fact that it takes courage to succeed. But, keep in mind that courage isn't the absence of fear, it's the ability to press on despite the presence of fear. Many times, the solution to any fear is simply to do the thing you fear. It's amazing how the fear will disappear! &lt;p&gt; The smallest of actions, even the ones that seem trivial and insignificant, can lead to great success. It's been said that, "Actions, like pictures, are worth a thousand words." &lt;p&gt; Without action, you could have the greatest idea and the greatest plan in the world and you would still fail. Whereas a modest idea and an incomplete plan often produces success when accompanied by enough action. &lt;p&gt; You just got to get moving. Sir Isaac Newton's principle that states a "body at rest tends to remain at rest and a body in motion tends to remain in motion," definitely applies to the action principle. Once you've taken the first step, the next steps seem easier to take. &lt;p&gt; It's a natural law that if you do nothing, nothing will happen; if you take minimum action, results are going to be minimal; but, if you take massive action, then you will be rewarded with massive results.Hugely successful people, the kind who go from mediocre to millions almost overnight, know that the major key to their success was taking massive action. &lt;p&gt; If you want to become hugely successful you must start at the beginning. Most beginnings are small, and appear trivial and insignificant, but in reality they are extremely important. &lt;p&gt; It's not only the right beginning that is important, it's beginning in the first place. Okay it made me so upset I had to write this while thinking, "What the F@#K?!" &lt;p&gt; I was looking at a catalogue of upcoming seminars given by some VERY famous and successful people. &lt;p&gt; I called one of my best friends and asked him if he wanted to go. His answer, to say the least Pissed Me Off! &lt;p&gt; He said, "Oh, I'm not gonna' waste my money on that seminar, that guy just got lucky. Dude, some people just get lucky!" Well, why did he have to go and say that to ME of all people??? &lt;p&gt; I said, "Listen Bro, I came from being a homeless runaway to pretty successful AND I'm marrying the girl of my dreams!" Am I lucky? Nope, I've earned everything I own and have. I'm no millionaire but I WILL be. &lt;p&gt; The person he didn't want to go see at the seminar is a VERY successful, famous, multi-millionaire entrepreneur. In addition to that the fee was pennies in comparison to the opportunity to meet and speak to this man. When I say pennies, I mean that people spend more on a pair of jeans! &lt;p&gt; So, what IS the truth about luck? &lt;p&gt; The truth is that luck is not a random event and it can be proven many different ways. Many very successful entrepreneurs may say that they were lucky but, they as well as I, know better. &lt;p&gt; What many call luck is really what I call a statistical occurrence that only happens after a specific action is taken. This action may not have been a calculated decision but it is an action towards a desired result. &lt;p&gt; I recently wrote about this in an article called How Thoughts Creates Matter that mentions how "Luck Like" things tend to happen when people take action towards a specific goal or objective. &lt;p&gt; Even Lottery winners are not lucky. They took a specific action in choosing or not choosing the numbers on their ticket and then purchasing it. Their prize is a statistical occurrence. Nothing more or nothing less. &lt;p&gt; The real truth of the matter is that most people get so caught up in their own distaste for their own "self determined" situation that they believe that there is some unanswerable reason for the success of others. &lt;p&gt; Shallow men believe in luck. Strong men believe in cause and effect. Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803 - 1882) &lt;p&gt; I am a great believer in luck, and I find the harder I work the more I have of it. Thomas Jefferson &lt;p&gt; To get "Lucky" here's what you should do. &lt;p&gt; Decide what you want, create a plan to get it and then DO IT! &lt;p&gt; Once you keep at it for a while success, Ahem, I mean Luck will occur. This first sprouting of consciousness comes out of the silence as waves, a vibration of light. The photons of light travel till they hit something then change from a wave to a particle and an ante-particle. &lt;p&gt; These particles cluster together and start to form the atoms of our body: The positive particles to the centre forming the nucleus and the negative ante particles forming the electrons. These groups of atoms cluster together to form our molecules; the molecules cluster to form the cells and DNA. The cells cluster to form the organs and bones etc. and all the parts together form the whole person. &lt;p&gt; Our body is an interference pattern of light that has changed from a wave to a solid and grown more and more complex. It has built up the layers and slowed down it's vibration from light to solid matter, through evolution and self-knowledge. &lt;p&gt; Know also that we are a reflection of the whole that at the time of our birth the pattern of the stars are fixed within us like taking a photograph. This is why astrologers can predict our future from the position of the stars. This connection also gives us great power, because each part of a hologram has to reflect the whole. Therefore by changing a part of ourselves the whole universe has to adjust to reflect the change. &lt;p&gt; If you have a holographic photograph of a three-dimensional object, if you then cut up the photo into 100 pieces, if you get a Laser and shine it through any one piece, you still see the whole image but each piece will give you a different perspective. &lt;p&gt; Human consciousness is the same, we all see the whole, but each person is seeing it from a different perspective. Pure Consciousness is shining through us like laser light: Shining from the voyd or vacuum outwards. This is what is creating the ever-expanding Universe. &lt;p&gt; This constant flow of light and consciousness is what maintains our body and what is infect life. &lt;p&gt; Know that by becoming aware of ourselves at these more subtle levels we can change ourselves just by our intention. If we choose to create from source, to manifest out of the silence, then you could say that we become like gods ourselves or sorcerers or wizards. &lt;p&gt; Know that this field of silence although it is empty, like a vacuum, is full of neutral or potential energy. This field contains all knowledge and is the source of each of our consciousnesses; gifts like telepathy, knowing the future, etc. work through this field. So the suggestion I am going to make may be difficult for you at first; I would even go as far as to say that you may feel a bit resentful about having to do it. &lt;p&gt; Some people don't want to take responsibility for the fact that they are not doing well financially. It's so much easier for us to blame other people and outside circumstances for our lack of wealth; because if it's all other people's fault, &lt;br&gt;then we don't have to do anything ourselves in order for "things to change".. right?? &lt;p&gt; Well Okay, that's fine if you're happy for things to remain exactly as they are now. But if not, why not give this a go? You have everything to gain and nothing to lose! So make a commitment to change the way you see your life. Take stock of everything you have. You might be surprised and even amazed at all of the little things that you forgot are so special to you. &lt;p&gt; Begin by writing of all the positive things you have in your life. Who loves you? Who are your friends? What about your children. How do they light up your life? These are just a few things that we forget about that add so much value and joy to our lives. &lt;p&gt; Practising gratitude each day will remind you of the good things in your life. Now, I don't want to sound like a Pollyanna, but this is worth a try! If nothing else, it will help you feel better about your current life circumstances. This shift is one from a mind-centered existence to one that is more heart-centered. &lt;p&gt; Until recently, we have been living in a Third Dimension reality, defined by what we know as width, length, and height. What we could see is what we would believe. In this dimension we are bound by time and our ego feels separated from the whole. We were, in fact, believing an illusion as limited by the logical perceptions of our mind. &lt;p&gt; This is often referred to as our state of being asleep in consciousness, having forgotten who we truly are as we came to this planet of life. We are now in a time of awakening, a time of remembering, as the old belief systems that we are limited beings is expanding with the consciousness of truth. &lt;p&gt; In the Third Dimension our minds are detached from our hearts. Our logical thinking has dominated our living out of balance with our feeling natures, out of touch with the heart center where we experience the feeling of love. We are focused on material concerns. Many people experience this as living as human doings instead of human beings. The "being" part, of course, is a greater sense of our place in the world, a sense of purpose, a sense of connection, a sense of freedom. &lt;p&gt; The heart is the center of our being, the core connection between our physical body and our higher communication centers. As we are being urged to be more heart-centered, our ego self is being transformed to a greater understanding that we are all part of the whole. Many people have experienced a sense of separation, even when they are in crowds, a feeling of letting go of the familiar, and uncertainty and fear as the new paradigm for living is in the process of development. Every one of us is participating in the evolution of life on this planet now. There is a growing sense of deep longing for connection, often described as a longing for "home". &lt;p&gt; Many describe a feeling that their passion is gone, a sense that they are destined for something greater, a general feeling of a lack of fulfillment or a knowing that something is missing from their lives. Many have a sense of disorientation, frustration or fear in this place of "not knowing" what is going on and what is going to happen. Our logical minds have always felt comforted in knowing and yet now we are in a time of change. &lt;p&gt; With the new energies that have been presented on the planet and the collective consciousness advancing, we opened our hearts to a new sense of longing to be connected and to live a life of some greater destiny. Most of us have been playing small, and it is now time for us to claim our power. The internet, which provides almost everyone with a global connection, is symbolic of our intention to be connected as a global community. This was a powerful demonstration of our desire to experience the "whole". &lt;p&gt; This is the time for the balance of our masculine and feminine natures. This is the time to reclaim the balance of our lives between work, play, self, and others. This is the time to recognize that as we evolve with the balance of our selves, we are activating a powerful awakening that will create the balance of our homes, communities, and global connections. &lt;p&gt; We are here to be a part of the grand Earth experiment for the evolution of this planet and as we participate more fully, more consciously, we are speeding up the process to move more completely into the Fifth Dimension and beyond. &lt;p&gt; Each and every one of us are here to be a powerful part of this dynamic time of evolution on our planet. All of our emotions, beliefs, and habits reside in the subconscious mind and hypnosis provides direct access to the subconscious mind to replace any negatives with powerful, positive beliefs. &lt;p&gt; While many people think of it as "deep sleep", hypnosis is a comfortable and relaxed state that focuses attention and concentration, bypasses the conscious mind filter, and allows the subconscious mind to be open and receptive to positive suggestions, tapping into the power of the body-mind connection. Most people experience a heightened state of awareness when they are hypnotized, while only about 10% will enter into a state where their mind is so relaxed that they do not remember the session. &lt;p&gt; People experience this natural, normal state at least twice each day - before they go to sleep and when they wake up. If you have experienced arriving somewhere and can't remember actually driving there, or if you have missed a freeway exit then you have been in a natural hypnotic state often referred to as "highway hypnosis". &lt;p&gt; Natural hypnosis may also occur when you become so involved in an activity, reading a book, or watching a movie that everything else seems to be blocked out, even to the point of not hearing people who talk to you. Whenever concentration is intense, it's easy to slip into a natural hypnotic state. &lt;p&gt; Hypnosis has been used for thousands of years as a powerful tool to help and heal. Early records mark the Egyptian sleep temples and the Temple of Aesculapius in Greece as sites where hypnosis was used as an important part of the healing treatment. &lt;p&gt; The ancient Hawaiian Kahuna's, healing masters, routinely used hypnosis in their healing practices. A resurgence of the use of hypnosis began in the 1700's with the work of an Austrian physician named Franz Anton Mesmer. In the 1800's Dr. James Braid brought hypnosis to the medical arena with his work in hypnoanesthesia. &lt;p&gt; Hypnosis was used as an effective and rapid treatment for "shell shock", now referred to as post-traumatic stress disorders, following World War I, World War II, and the Korean War. &lt;p&gt; The American Medical Association approved hypnosis as an effective treatment in 1958 and recommended that training in hypnosis be included in medical school curriculum. Hypnosis and guided imagery continue to be integrated into modern medical and health care systems. &lt;p&gt; The National Institute of Health recognizes hypnosis as a Complimentary and Alternative Medicine treatment modality and continues to fund research to validate the importance of hypnosis. &lt;p&gt; Research results have shown dramatic results in a variety of areas, particularly as an adjunct to conventional cancer treatments and for pain management. Moving even more into the traditional arenas of medical care, hypnosis remains as one of the most powerful healing modalities by utilizing the power of the subconscious mind in motivating the mind-body connection for balance and health. &lt;p&gt; Hypnosis is probably best known for breaking habits with stop smoking and weight loss success and yet it has been found to be effective in reducing and managing stress, achieving deep relaxation, increasing energy, overcoming fears, overcoming insomnia, and reducing the experience of pain. &lt;p&gt; Hypnosis has also been shown to be effective in overcoming test anxiety, improving test performance, improving sports performance, improving motivation, setting and achieving goals, improving memory and concentration, increasing self confidence, and building self-esteem. &lt;p&gt; Most of us have habits or feelings that we've tried to change and yet nothing we do seems to make a difference. We know how we want to act and feel, but our decision-making and will power doesn't seem to be enough to have any lasting effect. Here, we are not simply discussing cost as it relates to selling price, but rather opportunity cost. The web site, "Mentors, Ventures and Plans" defines opportunity cost as "The loss of the next best alternative whenever a decision is made involving two or more options". "Investing in Options" defines it as "Choosing the best alternative means that you can't choose the next-best alternative. Opportunity cost is the next-best alternative that must be sacrificed in order to get something else you want. Opportunity cost can be thought of as the road not taken." Inactivity, or doing nothing, is usually the highest price paid and is often associated with great opportunity cost. Inaction is usually the worst decision one can make, made from a base of fear. &lt;p&gt; Many of us freeze when facing decisions. For some reason, decision making becomes complex, paralyzing and even painful for many people. It should not be this way. Making a decision is simply the act of choosing between alternatives. You must learn to weigh the implications of each possible decision and choose the outcome that is best for you and all others involved. For example, when your telephone bill comes due, you may choose to pay it or not. There are real obvious consequences for both actions. The situation becomes more complex however, when our human emotions enter the picture. For instance; you are offered a new job and must decide to leave your current position and move your family to a new location, hundreds of miles away.. &lt;p&gt; What we often fail to realize, is that delaying important decisions or simply not making a decision at all, are actions that often impact us with the highest opportunity costs and worst case scenarios. Inactivity, or the lack of a decision, is actually a decision made, although one seldom made in our best interests. In this case, we unfortunately transfer over control of our lives to external forces and circumstances. We are now positioned to be at the mercy and decision-making of others. This is not your best scenario. There are often unusually high costs associated with doing nothing. &lt;p&gt; Decision making is actually a skill set that can be learned and refined. Like all skills, entering into a new area as a novice requires practice and application in order to improve. Keep in mind that you will indeed improve! Start small, with less important decisions involving less than crucial outcomes and gradually make more decisions on matters of greater importance. Soon, you will have few if any issues with making decisions. Learn to start small and work your way up, gradually extending your comfort zone in this area. A by-product of learning these new skills is that your confidence will surely improve as well. &lt;p&gt; Decision making need not be frightening. Think of it as a process that is your own, shedding any external pressure that others may be applying. Take your time, get your facts and choose the outcome that works best for you. Of course, the principle was very well understood and probably by Mr. Hill more than anyone! &lt;p&gt; Here&amp;#39;s the short not too scientific explanation: &lt;p&gt; Everything we see on any given day is made up of not just cells or atoms but, of PURE ENERGY. &lt;p&gt; This energy is called Quanta (plural for Quantum). Keep in mind Quanta is the unit measure of pure energy. These Quanta are part of what Quantum Physics is based on. &lt;p&gt; This energy exists only when observed. (There are a lot of arguments about observation and they all have their validity but lets keep it simple.) &lt;p&gt; Scientists say that Quanta are not a reality but instead they are a probability that exist in any given point in time. So when a person focuses on (observes) a thing, it exists! &lt;p&gt; This is because this Quanta, is now formed into the thing whatever it may be. &lt;p&gt; Many scientist, Einstein included have proved that Quanta are not bound to space and time and can exist anywhere. &lt;p&gt; These scientists also understand that your mind, body and soul are also made up of these Quanta and Quanta are influenced by other Quanta. &lt;p&gt; In other words your mind and the minds of others, create and co-create everything through influencing Quanta! &lt;p&gt; Now here&amp;#39;s the practical explanation: &lt;p&gt; Knowing now what your mind is capable of, if you were to focus your own energy into creating what you desire in your mind with crystal clarity, it will come to you at amazing speed! &lt;p&gt; Now, this creation process is not just thought. It is both thought and work! These two together seal the deal. &lt;p&gt; This is why many of the experts out there tell you that you just can&amp;#39;t be scattered. You have to focus on your ultimate goal. &lt;p&gt; Guess what? They are all right! All of these things together solidify what you&amp;#39;re thinking. &lt;p&gt; THIS my friend is the "Secret" behind all of the Goal setting, the Meditation, the Master-Minding, Learning, Persistence, Action, Desire and Faith that we all are told that we must have or do. &lt;p&gt; Without these, our thoughts are controlled by outside influence and we lose our clarity and focus. &lt;p&gt; Have you ever heard, a successful person talk about how fast success seemed to come to them and how well they did in no time flat? I&amp;#39;ve heard many of these. The reason is that they knew exactly what they wanted and worked toward it. Simple as that. &lt;p&gt; One such example is a man by the name of Matt Bacak - PowerfulPromoter.com who is actually one of the inspirations for this article. I was on a tele-seminar with Matt once and he talked about how everything came to him so fast, once he knew what he wanted and started working toward it. In fact, the next thing I tell you may sound less than inspiring. But read on, as you will soon find, the most challenging truths are actually the greatest opportunities for amazing joy. &lt;p&gt; The truth is that humans are destined to feel stuck at various points in their lives. There is no way to avoid it and no way to ignore it. Feeling stuck is an absolute given condition of human beings. &lt;p&gt; So, you may be asking, &amp;quot;Why is being stuck a given?&amp;quot; It is because humans are always growing, always changing and always evolving. There is never a moment when your body, mind or spirit stops recreating itself. Humans are always desiring (wanting something) &amp;#45; even if it is simply a breath of air. When you achieve a goal you have strived toward for years, that goal ceases to be a goal the minute it is attained. And just like you don&amp;#39;t get rid of bad thoughts or bad habits&amp;#45;you replace them with better thoughts or better behaviors &amp;#45; what you desire is constantly being replaced by what you desire next. This doesn&amp;#39;t mean you are not momentarily happy with where you are. However, your mind seeks expansion. There is only so long that humans can stay satisfied with where they are before new desires pop into their heads. Desiring is what continually evolves the universe and the human spirit. &lt;p&gt; Another thing to be aware of is that you have multiple areas of your life that are happening simultaneously. I call these the Nine Environments of Holistic Living. In each of these environments you have different goals and different intentions. You may be focused heavily on one or two areas, and after achieving amazing things in those areas, &amp;quot;suddenly&amp;quot; become aware of another area that is lacking in some way. You are now focusing on that neglected area. Regardless of how satisfied you are in the other areas, the neglected area, you are now focused on, feels stagnate and stuck. For example, a person who achieves a long-worked-for goal in her career may then shift her focus to relationships and feel stuck in a bad relationship or stuck in not having a relationship. It doesn&amp;#39;t take away from her career achievements, but the feeling is still there because the focus has shifted. &lt;p&gt; The feeling of being stuck is simply you telling yourself that there is more that you desire in a given area or areas. The frustration of being stuck, and what may create negative emotions around it, is often caused when you aren&amp;#39;t sure how to make the changes you want to get unstuck. Thus, being stuck may create a panic inside of you that the situation will never change. The degree to which you feel the stuck-ness and how quickly you respond to this feeling often determines how being stuck affects you. &lt;p&gt; First, I think it useful to define what being stuck really means. Being stuck may not mean what you think it means, which can be what makes being stuck feel so hopeless and frustrating. Being stuck is not a destination. It is not a life sentence. It is also does not define who you are, just where you are at any given moment. Being stuck is simply a notification&amp;#45;a sign if you will&amp;#45;that it is time to start making something new and different happen in your life. When you are feeling stuck, it is simply another part of you tapping you on the proverbial shoulder saying, &amp;quot;Hey, I am no longer satisfied with where I am or what I have in a particular area and I need something else.&amp;quot; &lt;p&gt; Just like if you have ever driven a car and you stop at a red light. When the light turns green, that is your sign to get moving. Being stuck is a simply a green light&amp;#45;a sign saying, it is time to get moving. The key is knowing how to get moving. This is where being stuck can feel like a horrible condition, a limiting circumstance and a trap. If you don&amp;#39;t know that pushing on the gas pedal will get you moving in your car, you can&amp;#39;t move. If your car is in the wrong gear, you can&amp;#39;t move. And if you resist that the light is green, you cannot move. If you resist that you feel stuck (which means you don&amp;#39;t welcome the emotion, but instead get caught up in the feelings of being trapped and hampered), you actually put your focus on the being stuck, instead of your focus on the sign to get moving. If you embrace that the sign is there, you then have the freedom to explore the options for how to get moving. When you have the freedom to explore, you can usually create change pretty quickly. &lt;p&gt; This may sound a bit confusing, so let me be as clear as possible given this is a critical piece for allowing yourself to get unstuck. By acknowledging that you are in a place you don&amp;#39;t want to be, but not delving into the emotions of being there, you free up your energy to focus on where you do want to be. You free up your energy to focus on what you do want, not what you don&amp;#39;t want. This is the foundation of the Law of Attraction, which says that which you focus your energy on is what you attract to you&amp;#45;wanted or unwanted. Learning to use being stuck as a positive sign that you are desiring more, opens you up to asking how to get it, instead of delving into the emotions of being where you don&amp;#39;t want to be, and fearing you are always going to be there. &lt;p&gt; No matter what question you ask yourself, you will get an answer. If you ask yourself&amp;#45;Why am I stuck here? What did I do to deserve this? Why does this always happen to me? Am I going to be here forever?&amp;#45;you will get an answer. And, most likely, you will get an answer that won&amp;#39;t assist you in pushing on your gas pedal or figuring out you are in the wrong gear. If you ask empowering questions, like&amp;#45;What do I want that I don&amp;#39;t have? How can I get it? What have I been doing and what can I do differently?&amp;#45;you begin focusing on answers that will propel you forward. &lt;p&gt; Getting unstuck can be an easy and smooth process. The key is using the proper tools to assist you. Using tools&amp;#45;questions, exercises, programs, processes, other people, etc.&amp;#45;is the number one way for re-directing your focus. Tools are how humans create in the universe. Learning and using the tools of notes and instruments are what allow you to make music. Learning and using hammers, nails and engineering are what allow you to construct buildings. Learning and using the alphabet, grammar and paper or computers are what allow you to write novels and poetry. Getting unstuck, changing your life, manifesting your desires is done by learning and using the natural tools of creating&amp;#45;the Law of Attraction, the Nine Environments of Holistic Living, Neuro-Linguistic Programming, the Process of Deliberate Creation, the Prosperity Process, the Power of Intention, the Universal Laws, Law of Attraction Coaches, Messages from Abraham or Seth, etc. &lt;p&gt; No one has to stay stuck. No one has to live a life they don&amp;#39;t love. It is simply recognizing the sign that it is time to make a change. My dad had secured a position as a research scientist at Miss. State Univ. that was simply too good to pass up. &lt;p&gt; Starkville was a small town like many other small towns across America. Life was slow and safe and predictable. All in all, not such a bad place to live. &lt;p&gt; For the next 12 years I was a Starkvillian. Like so many other young boys I spent most of my free time exploring the world from the comfort of a bicycle seat. &lt;p&gt; Life was full of adventures. Looking back now, it resembled a series of Norman Rockwell paintings. &lt;p&gt; But it wasn't always so idealistic. In fact, for over 20 years after leaving that small town I hated everything to do with Starkville. I called it a nightmare existence in a God-forsaken town. &lt;p&gt; So why do you suppose I hated it?&lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt; I Focused On The Negative &lt;p&gt; Like children everywhere, my wonder years consisted of good events, bad events, and many mediocre and neutral events. Good times that made me feel good. Bad times that made me feel bad. And many events stirred little emotional reaction at all. &lt;p&gt; However, my problem was that I discounted the good events, while elevating the bad ones. &lt;p&gt; The painful events on my past became like anchors - the pillars of the past. The defining moments of my life. &lt;p&gt; Certain events would happen, and rather than simply feeling the pain and moving on, I would suppress and repress those painful emotions. &lt;p&gt; Paradoxically, while I denied the feelings, I elevated the events. I would take a painful situation and make it much worse than it really was. &lt;p&gt; I Embellished My Past&lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt; How do you embellish a painful past? Intentionally exaggerate its stature and importance. Like a playwright constructing a play, I would add drama for the effect it created. &lt;p&gt; I would set the stage. Get the lighting just right. Play suspenseful music in the background. Create a prologue - &lt;p&gt; "The story you are about to hear is true. Only the names have been changed to protect the innocent..." &lt;p&gt; Like one of those old Dragnet TV shows! &lt;p&gt; I built it up any way I could. I made it sacred. &lt;p&gt; And no matter what, I could *NOT* feel the feelings of those past events and let them go! I needed those unresolved emotions to breathe life into an otherwise-dead past. &lt;p&gt; I spent way too much of my time giving CPR to a corpse of the past. Ever given CPR? It'll wear you out! It's hard to do it for very long; it's just too much work. &lt;p&gt; Imagine doing it for decades. &lt;p&gt; I defined my life by those highly selective events of the past that were being kept alive ONLY by my emotional energy. &lt;p&gt; I Was Giving My Power To The Past&lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt; Thoughts and feelings are the very source of your power. Your power - your ability and willingness to act - comes about because of the constant stream of your thoughts and feelings. &lt;p&gt; Thoughts and feelings are constantly and consistently springing forth into your consciousness. &lt;p&gt; A stream of thoughts. A stream of feelings. Together they are the source of your power. &lt;p&gt; If you're using those thoughts and feelings to hold onto the past, then you'll have less power available to you now. Power that could be used to heal your emotions instead becomes diverted into holding the past in place. &lt;p&gt; I Built My Past Into A Frankenstein's Monster&lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt; Out of that handful of painful events I created a backbone. From the backbone I grew a skeleton. Surrounding the skeleton I grew muscles and skin and internal organs. I gave it a heart. I gave it a voice. &lt;p&gt; All that growth required conscious effort on my part. I had to keep reminding myself of those painful events. &lt;p&gt; "I really was wronged." &lt;p&gt; "I really was shamed." &lt;p&gt; "I really was abused." &lt;p&gt; Building them up and fleshing them out took a lot of my power. But it was worth it. I got to feel like a victim. I got to hide in my self pity. I was entitled. Hey, I EARNED the right to engage in any errant behavior I chose! &lt;p&gt; I earned the right to blame, to struggle, to manipulate and punish anybody I wanted. I earned my righteous arrogance because of my embellished pain of the past. &lt;p&gt; I was powerless as a result, but that's okay. I earned the right to be weak by all the effort I was expending to try to keep the past alive. &lt;p&gt; ***&lt;br&gt; I took the best of me and gave it to a past that didn't even exist. &lt;br&gt;*** &lt;p&gt; It takes constant effort to keep the past alive. You can't just set it and forget it - like a thermostat on the wall. You have to keep remembering it. You have to keep using today's power to reinforce the imprisonment of yesterday's power. &lt;p&gt; We Invest In The Past&lt;br&gt; &lt;p&gt; The past is over, yet so often our power remains trapped in the emotional investment we've made in certain painful events of that dead past. &lt;p&gt; The past is over. &lt;p&gt; But the very power we need to break free of those memories is instead being diverted into a much more sinister goal. We invest a lot of time and energy creating a Frankenstein's monster of the past, and it's become too big to handle. &lt;p&gt; The power you need to heal the past is instead being used to try to keep it alive. It becomes a tangled mess. &lt;p&gt; You can't heal the past until you get more power. &lt;p&gt; You can't get more power until you heal the past. &lt;p&gt; So what's the answer? First you heal a little bit, and you retrieve a little power. Then, in your empowered state you heal a little more and get back a little more power. The difficulty for many is that they aren&amp;#39;t aware of how to turn what they imagine into a physical reality. You already have the tools within you already; it&amp;#39;s simply a matter of using those tools on purpose. What are these innate tools? They are our thoughts, our words, and our feelings. Sounds simple, but is it? Yes, it is simple. Initially, it may not be easy however. It takes practice to use them wisely and with power. But I get ahead of myself. With the intention of finally living the life you really want to live, and the determination to stay on task, to really pay attention to each tool, you will, sooner than later, be living the very dream that has be elusive up until now. Within each thought you think, you have created an energy that thought carries with it. With each word you speak, to yourself or to others, there is the energy within that word. And within each emotion, is carried an energy that goes out before you. &lt;p&gt; Conscious awareness of you being part of, and born of, the energy of the creative forces of this Universe is an important awareness to have. It is said that the reason we feel separated from the Creator or Source (as I prefer to define God), is that we believe we are separated. It&amp;#39;s the belief in the separation that creates the separation. When you consciously decide that you are connected to that force which created you, you have an entirely different, expanded perception from which to live your life. Suddenly, there are more possibilities, new opportunities; your challenges have less power than they previously had, and the very quality of your life is enhanced and enriched. &lt;p&gt; Know that the substance of the Universe constantly flows through each particle of your being. How you think and speak and feel are the most powerful tools you possess to help you realize that the energy of the Universe does in fact flow through you, and as you. That substance is always flowing through each aspect of your being, through every part of your life. It&amp;#39;s simply a matter of being aware of that: by choosing to be aware of it, you begin to be aware of that universal substance as the experience and as the expression of your life, of you. So now that you&amp;#39;re aware that you have the tools of thought, words and feelings already, how do you use them to create your life as you would like to live it? &lt;p&gt; Energy flows through your thoughts, Notice the quality of energy that accompanies your thoughts. How do you discover what that quality is? Simply by asking yourself to notice what quality the energy of your thought is made of. Are my thoughts empowering me, inspiring me, supporting my dreams? Are my thoughts encouraging, myself and others? Do they help me to see beyond my current circumstances or are they dwelling on the dense energy of an unpleasant circumstance? Do these thoughts keep me down or lift me up? &lt;p&gt; Energy flows through your words, Notice the quality of energy that accompanies your words. Are the words I&amp;#39;m speaking in alignment with what I would like in my life? Or, are my words reminding me of what I don&amp;#39;t have that I do want? Are the words I speak highlighting the absence of my desires or are they highlighting the possibilities of my dreams becoming my reality? &lt;p&gt; Energy flows through your feelings, Emotions are your energy in motion. Your feelings are a very important indicator of the vibration, depleting or uplifting, that you&amp;#39;re holding in this moment. You can be aware of the energy of your feelings by asking yourself, "Are my feelings aligned with what I want or with what I&amp;#39;m not yet living? Do I reach to find a feeling that inspires me, that makes me feel good and that brings more joy to me? Or do I continue to feel the lack I have experienced in my life? Am I choosing to feel good?" &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;As you are born of the creative/creator forces of this Universe, you are a creator. You are creating every moment, in every moment, and as every moment, it&amp;#39;s important to command of yourself to make the most of what you&amp;#39;re creating. Check, and then calibrate the quality of your energy. &lt;p&gt; Thought, Word, Feeling, these are the tools with which you create. And since you are the qualifying factor of your creation, you can understand and experience that as you create, and as you send forth that creation, the vibration of like energy returns to you, expanded. &lt;p&gt; Armed with this knowledge and the understanding that you are creating with the very energy of the Universe, you are actually molding that very energy by consciously deciding to choose the particular quality or qualities you want as part of your energy. &lt;p&gt; Knowing the value of your own energy and using it, on purpose, is the first step in understanding how to manifest into physical form the life you&amp;#39;ve always imagined for yourself. Consciously, or unconsciously, we may have at some time or another, produced our own conditions, desirable, or undesirable, either in our bodily health or other circumstances. &lt;p&gt; Many of these conditions in our lives, whether they be favorable or unfavorable, are largely determined by our beliefs. &lt;p&gt; You may not accept that. You might be like a lot of people that I have encountered that make excuses. Making excuses and casting blame only make us out to be the victim. There is absolutely no power in playing the part of a victim. &lt;p&gt; I know we each experience our own individual successes and failures because of our beliefs. &lt;p&gt; Our beliefs definately determine the quality of our lives. The amount of money we earn is determined by our beliefs. We each earn the income we do today because of the beliefs we maintain. Simply because it is the amount we have limited ourselves to earn. We possibly could earn five, ten, twenty times, or more if we did not limit ourselves through our beliefs. &lt;p&gt; Don&amp;#39;t believe that&amp;#39;s true? Surely you know people who earn much more than you who don&amp;#39;t have your education, your skills, or your intelligence. So why do they earn more than you? &lt;p&gt; It is a fact that one&amp;#39;s belief system is ultimately responsible for whether they live a successful life or not. So, it would do each one of us good to get an understanding of our individual beliefs. &lt;p&gt; It starts with our thoughts. Our thoughts are what our belief system is composed of, and it is our beliefs that ultimately dictate the outcome of every area of our lives. &lt;p&gt; Your true beliefs are a sum total of all of your accumulated experiences over the course of your life. They create your expectations for future experiences, and your expectations are really nothing more than your current pattern of thought. &lt;p&gt; Your thoughts have brought you to where you are right now. But, you are not limited to the life you now live. It has been accepted by you as the best you can do at this moment. Any time you&amp;#39;re ready to go beyond the limitations currently in your life, you&amp;#39;re capable of doing that by choosing different thoughts. &lt;p&gt; Since there are tremendous reservoirs of potential within you, you are quite capable of doing anything you set your mind to (as long as it&amp;#39;s within God&amp;#39;s will for you). All you must do is decide that you can. And once you have made your mind up that you can do it, it&amp;#39;s amazing how your mind begins to figure out how. &lt;p&gt; The "how" is the easy part. It&amp;#39;s the "believing" part that trips up most people. &lt;p&gt; Jesus said in Mark 9:23, "All thing are possible to him who believes." &lt;p&gt; You are only limited by your beliefs, and it is your thoughts that make up your beliefs. Therefore, it makes sense to choose better thoughts. It&amp;#39;s completely within your control. Choose thoughts that contribute to success and not failure, or a "settle for" attitude. &lt;p&gt; If you sincerely want to move on with your life, you can if you decide to. &lt;p&gt; Make a decision today to take full responsibility for where you are. Decide from this moment on that you will choose thoughts that contribute to a life of success and dismiss all thoughts of doubt, fear, and unbelief. Objections make journaling exciting as well as frustrating. You may not know when an objection will show up. Objections will show up as you journal, because you have decided to gently examine your life or work. I&amp;#39;ve listed some common objections. Do any of these comments sound familiar? &lt;p&gt; I CAN&amp;#39;T WRITE: It is one of the most common objections I hear. Does this mean you can&amp;#39;t write like you were taught in public school? Well, neither can I. Writing in your journal requires that you gently question and ultimately keep only those rules that serve your purposes. It doesn&amp;#39;t mean that you won&amp;#39;t experience some ambivalence, while selecting your rules. It means that you will learn to write more from your heart, which is the ultimate goal of keeping a journal. &lt;p&gt; MY WRITING ISN&amp;#39;T GOOD ENOUGH: The basis of this objection is perfectionism. Have you heard yourself say, &amp;quot;My cooking isn&amp;#39;t good enough.&amp;quot; Or my hair doesn&amp;#39;t look good enough.&amp;quot; There are many more examples like these. Remember that journaling is an exploration, not only of ideas, but of the act of writing. As you write each journal entry, you are practicing how to write, as well as what to write. The only expectations that you should meet are that you show up to journal and fill as much of each page as you can. &lt;p&gt; I&amp;#39;M NOT CREATIVE ENOUGH: I believe that everyone is creative. Creative skills differ from person to person. Whenever you write a journal entry, you are creating something new. Writing a journal entry is creative, because you are sharing something new with yourself, with God or others. For example, I&amp;#39;ve wanted to create images from doodles in my journal for a long time. The closest that I came was to fill up a page with lines and draw a faint image over the background. I couldn&amp;#39;t make a distinct image. This morning I finally created a completed one image from a doodle. Is the image creative? Yes. Would it win a prize? No. Was I happy about completing it? Absolutely yes. Now, I&amp;#39;m no longer limited to just creating doodles in my journal. &lt;p&gt; I DON&amp;#39;T KNOW WHAT TO SAY: This statement is not true. Everyone has an opinion. Everyone has some topic that they can discuss with other people. What really can stop you from speaking out, is worrying about what others will think of you, worrying about sounding foolish, and worrying about others ignoring you. Unfortunately, some people might be unkind to you, social situations are sometimes unpredictable. However, in your journal you can write as many opinions as you want. As you become more confident in writing your journal entries, you will begin to explore many other subjects and ideas. &lt;p&gt; PERMISSION: It&amp;#39;s very important that you say yes to yourself, as you begin to journal. Some people have experienced resistance from family, friends or themselves about what, when or if they should journal. For example, I needed permission internally and from God, so I could restart my journaling practice. Several years before, a relative, had read my journal without asking permission. I stopped journaling for quite awhile. In 1990, my pastor encouraged our church to start writing our prayers to God in a prayer journal. I asked God for the ability to trust and courage to start writing again. He helped me start journaling again. A secondary result was that I started laughing more and worrying less. I wrote more prayers to God and experienced more answers to those prayers. I felt relieved that I had a safe place to write again. &lt;p&gt; &lt;br&gt;You have learned about some of the most common objections. You&amp;#39;ve also learned that these objections can prevent you from journaling regularly. &lt;p&gt; Choose one objection that resonates with you. Keep the objection in mind, as you journal for the next week or so. See if this objection or others appears to interrupt your journaling. Make sure to write a few notes about your experience. If you don&amp;#39;t sense any objections when you st art to journal. Then that&amp;#39;s wonderful, too. It is so important that it occupies one of the top slots in the list of elements needed for successful living. It is so important that it is one of the deciding factors to realize one&amp;#39;s goal. &lt;p&gt; There is no doubt that everyone likes talking to enthusiastic people, unless a person likes to be in a gloomy state, which I doubt that person does. Enthusiastic people keep the conversation alive and upbeat. You feel like you are partying. It is like adding more wood to a bonfire making you feel like you want to roast marshmallows in it. If there is a category in the Guinness Book of World Records of being the contagious disease most people would like to have with them, it is enthusiasm. Law enforcers would probably ban quarantine of this disease. &lt;p&gt; Now, just how do you get enthusiastic especially when your surroundings, the weather condition, and the general situation feels down and out? &lt;p&gt; Here are some helpful tips to develop enthusiasm: &lt;p&gt; - Adopt the &amp;quot;as if&amp;quot; principle. It is believed that this was first stated by Professor William James, at times known as the father of American Psychological Science. This is an effective time and people tested principle. &lt;p&gt; I would suggest at this point that you try to apply the &amp;quot;as if&amp;quot; principle with someone near or beside you to confirm its effectiveness. Think creatively. &lt;p&gt; Another similar principle is the &amp;quot;what if&amp;quot;. If you are in the business of developing products of specialized use, you are most likely exposed to a lot of experimentation. As human beings, we were endowed by our Creator with the power of choice. It is one of the factors that differentiate persons from animals. Some people make these choices or decisions more easily than others. &lt;p&gt; Each day, we must decide how we will spend our precious twenty four hours and deal with all that the world presents to us. We choose how we will be affected by both everyday occurrences and those that are much more extraordinary. Whether consciously or unconsciously, we choose to either react or respond. These are not the same, for one is negative and one is positive. Which we choose may have a significant impact on our life and possibly those close to us. &lt;p&gt; Reacting to outside influences, usually beyond our control is generally a negative choice. Reacting implies that we have given charge of the situation to someone or something else. We surrender our input and any control in the matter. We are now at the mercy of the situation and are forced to be in reaction mode where we are constantly dodging bullets and expending great amounts of energy just to stay afloat. In reacting to a situation, we do not anticipate that which is to come because we are too busy handling the present. The future then surprises us and the whole mess begins again. &lt;p&gt; Responding to a situation is a positive choice. It is the opposite of reacting. It is proactive and anticipates that which is yet to come. Responding is preceded by thought and often prayer. In responding, we take charge and have command over how the situation impacts us. We also have control over how it affects us internally. We decide upon the level of personal impact. &lt;p&gt; Our lives, families, careers and other everyday activities and interests are operating at breakneck speeds and appear at times to be accelerating. One thing is for certain, the old days of sitting around on the front porch each evening listening to Mother Nature are gone for many of us. The pace of life in Mayberry, as healthy and tranquil as it would appear, is unfortunately a thing of the past. We live life on the fast track. &lt;p&gt; A major news weekly magazine is currently featuring material devoted to stress and distress in our lives and their effects on our cardiovascular health. Although not totally surprising, this information is disturbing. How did we ever get to this point? Witness the number of television commercials and magazine advertisements for gastric distress, acid reflux, anxiety, depression, headaches and other ailments that are increasing in frequency. There are millions of prescriptions written each day for these medical conditions, most of which will find their roots in internalized stress and distress. &lt;p&gt; People spend many hours of their lives worrying. Worry is a senseless, energy robbing activity that has engulfed many. No one has ever benefited from worry, yet countless people engage in it. Worry is the opposite of faith. Worry is negative while faith is positive. There is no mystery here. Many books have been written on the subject. The conclusions are the same: "Don&amp;#39;t Worry, Be Happy" and "Stop Worrying and Start Living" are among the many themes presented. Good advice indeed. &lt;p&gt; Most areas of life present us with choices. We must choose either to respond or react to circumstances. We choose whether or not to worry. Learn to be aware that you have a choice in these matters. Learn that there are ways that you can deal with everything either positively or negatively. Learn that your choices may influence your very health, both physical and mental. Learn that there will be costs associated with poor choices, worrying and negativity in general. These may include social, monetary, peace of mind and time costs. Certainly, the total cost associated with negative choices is too high. &lt;p&gt; Learn that positively responding to circumstances in life will significantly reduce or eliminate worry and contribute to your overall good health and well being. When he came home the second month with a horrified look on his face, telling me that he&amp;#39;d done something awful, I was more than a little concerned. He explained that, as a prank, he had given a boy&amp;#39;s locker combination to someone else. That person had opened the locker, and trashed all the books and belongings inside. He didn&amp;#39;t know what to do, so he asked for my advice. &lt;p&gt; Here&amp;#39;s what I guided him to do: He called the boy whose locker was trashed, told him that he was responsible, and that he would do whatever it took to make things right. He called the boy&amp;#39;s parents, told them he was sorry and would do whatever it took to make things right. Even though the mother was yelling at him and calling him names, I stood by his side, and he continued to apologize. The next morning, he went to the Dean&amp;#39;s office before his first class, told the Dean what he had done, and said he would do whatever it took to make things right. &lt;p&gt; This was one of the most terrifying moments of my son&amp;#39;s life up until that time. I can remember the look of horror on his face as the mother cursed him and called him names. I also remember that he was able to stand up tall, with dignity and with self-esteem, as he went to school the next morning to talk with the Dean. He felt good about himself, not because he had made a mistake (as everyone is going to do in life!), but because he had the courage to stand up and admit it. He had the integrity to take responsibility for his actions and the inner strength to do whatever it took to make things right. &lt;p&gt; Now, you may be wondering what happened in all of this. My son had to pay for a new lock for the boy&amp;#39;s locker. The Dean called me to tell me he had never in his entire career seen a student carry himself with such dignity and such integrity. He was truly impressed and thanked me for the guidance I&amp;#39;d given him, and for raising such an incredible son with clear values. &lt;p&gt; The boy whose locker had been trashed barely talked to my son for four years. And yet, when they were graduating from high school and went to their elementary school reunion, it was as if nothing had ever happened. Yes, it took some time for the wounds to heal, but in the end everything turned out fine. &lt;p&gt; What happened to the boy who actually opened the locker and trashed it? He refused to apologize and his parents refused to make him apologize. He was put on detention for weeks and was asked to leave the school at the end of the year. &lt;p&gt; We all make mistakes, some of them are big ones, some of them are small. My son made a mistake, and in the process got to learn a very valuable lesson. &lt;p&gt; Honesty is always the best policy. Taking responsibility for what you say and do is essential if you want to feel good about yourself. It&amp;#39;s important to be willing to go to any length to make things right when you breach your integrity. It may not be easy. It may feel crummy and uncomfortable. You may get yelled at. In the end, though, you&amp;#39;ll be able to walk with your head held high, you will be able to go to sleep in peace at night, and you will be respected. &lt;p&gt; Most important, you will respect yourself. What is the Real Secret?</title><content type='html'>  &lt;p&gt; Everyone is lured in by the thought of easy money, especially today. Personal debt is at an all time high and personal savings haven't been this low since the Great Depression. The Law of Attraction seems to promise wealth and abundance simply by thinking about it. Easy money right? Could the Law of Attraction be simply a myth? The truth is out there but it's not what you think.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; If you have been to the bookstore lately or checked Amazon's top seller list you will notice that there are several books that are based on the Law of Attraction. The Secret by Rhonda Byrne is one of the most popular right now. Why are these types of books so popular now? I believe it's because people are looking for a way out of the financial messes and the chaos of everyday life today. In our efforts to be more productive and to live up to some fictitious standard we have set for ourselves, we have over complicated our lives and are now getting ready to crash and burn. We have been spoiled and have the "I want it now" syndrome. We want a simpler life, a more meaningful life and we want it now. We want to be wealthy, we want to be debt free, travel the world and we want it now. These books seem to promise and easy way to our dreams.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; There is absolutely nothing wrong with these wishes. They are indeed wishes that will lead us in the right direction. The problem is that we can't have them right now just by wishing for them. So is the Law of Attraction a myth? I don't believe it is entirely a myth. I do believe there is energy out there that we can not see but we can tap into if we know how. There is a greater consciousness that holds the answers to all questions and guides the way to all dreams. However, it's not as simple as sitting down and telling yourself that you really want a million dollars and "poof" it's attracted to you. Unfortunately, it is being portrayed that way, like easy money.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; The Truth to the Secret&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; If there is something that you really want, say a million dollars. You should think about it everyday. You should right down your goal. You should brainstorm ideas everyday that will be leading you in the direction of your goal. Make a list of the things you do everyday that are not leading towards your goal. If your goal is to get your bedroom clutter free than is sitting on the couch and watching soap operas getting you closer to your dream? Now some will say," You need some time for yourself and to relax". That's true; you do need to relax at times. That's when meditation is good and plays a crucial role. Meditating will help you to relax and clear your mind from the daily troubles. Most importantly it helps clear away the clutter in your mind and lets you find a clearer, simpler path to what you seek. The answers are already there, you already know the solution to your problem. You just have to relax and listen.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Once you have relaxed it's time to get back to working towards your goal. The more you work towards your goal the more things will start to fall into place and the more opportunities you will see. Is it the Law of Attraction that has made these opportunities available to you? Could it be that you are so focused on your dream and really involved in making it a reality that your eyes are just opened to the opportunities that were always there but you couldn't see them? I think it's more the later.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Take for example two women that want to get their homes clean and clutter free. The clutter is overwhelming them and their husbands are getting very annoyed. They are embarrassed to have anyone over. They both work full time and have two children.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Woman A is very determined about her dream to have a clean home. She thinks about it everyday. She has sat down and made a list of what needs to be done and has figured out the best way to accomplish it. Even though she is tired when she comes home she is determined to make her dream a reality. So, she spends a half hour cleaning a particular room every evening. She devises a routine to keep the rooms clean. She starts having the kids pick up their own clothes and be responsible for their own rooms. She asks her husband to help clean the garage out and to help do the dishes at night so she can have a few more minutes to clean. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; As the family sees her get serious about cleaning they get in on the act too. Woman A finds that she needs a bunch of boxes to take stuff to the thrift shop. As she is driving home from work the next day she sees a bunch of clean boxes that someone has thrown out and she brings them home. Was that the Law of Attraction working or did she just know what she needed and therefore her mind was on the lookout to fulfill that need?&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; It doesn't happen overnight but eventually her hard work pays off and her house is clutter free and beautiful. It makes her feel so much better and her husband and children are happy too. There is no more stress about finding things because everything is organized. Her routine is simple to keep the house looking good and she can relax and take it easy. Life is easier and the stress of knowing that the house needs to be cleaned up is gone.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Now let's take woman B. She too wants her home clean. However, she just complains that the task is just too overwhelming; she doesn't know where to start. She says that she'll clean on the weekend but when the weekend comes she says that she wants to spend time with the kids and relax for awhile. On a day off from work she watches TV and looks around her at the clutter and just feels bad and tells herself that she will never have a clean home. Then she goes shopping to make herself feel better and just comes home with more stuff to fill up her house and has spent more money on nothing.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Her husband and children never help out because they see no motivation on her part. In their eyes she obviously doesn't want the house to be clean that much or else she'd be doing something about it. Nothing is ever attracted to her to help her out because she's not looking. That same pile of boxes was probably there for her too but she drove right by them because she didn't know what she needed. She will never reach her dream and the strain on the marriage and family will always be there like an anchor.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; So was there some mysterious force at work attracting things to woman A or was she just simply focused and determined and took the time to clear her thoughts to find a simple path to her dream. Once you get working on something then things do seem to just fall into place. It's getting started that can be the problem. You must force yourself to take action. Sitting and wishing for you dream alone will do nothing to attract it to you. Work for it and it will appear.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; So is there some magical thing out there that you can pray to that will make your dreams come true? I don't think so. I believe there is a Law of Attraction but I think it is simply stated this way... if you are determined and are focused on your goal. If you live every minute of your life working towards your goal in some form, then you will know exactly what you need to fulfill your dream and your mind will be on the lookout for it. So opportunities that you never saw before suddenly jump out at you. I don't think this is so much attraction as it is focused attention and energy.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; When you have accomplished your goal then you can really relax. You will finally be where you wanted to be instead of relaxing and watching soap operas or football and still wishing you were living your dream. Nature is constantly changing and yet, so many people have the notion that change is frightening.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; People are creatures of habit and some find it difficult to adjust to changes that are certain to come our way. Life is like an old, comfortable pair of shoes. We may realize that we need new ones and we may even find new ones we really like, but, we know that changing will cause us discomfort for a little while until we break them in.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Sometimes we need to realize that life isn&amp;#39;t always easy. What may be better for us is not what we are used to, but it is certainly worth the trouble of breaking in new habits and lifestyle changes.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Change does not have to be painful. Just look to nature and it will give you clues to how change can be effortless. The beautifully colored autumn leaves do not hang on to the old tree for dear life. No, they yield to the changes with ease and float gently off the tree.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; With the coming of autumn we have been busy in our gardens pulling up the old stuff and getting ready for a time of rest. We know that the ground must rest and next year there will be more wonderful things in our garden to delight us. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Are there things in your life that need to be gently eased out of your life? Maybe there are bad relationships or habits or thoughts that need to be weeded out of your life. Don&amp;#39;t be afraid to do a little gardening in your own life. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Every gardener knows that unless we get to the roots, we really are not getting rid of the problem. It may go away for awhile but unless we get to the root, it will sneak back into the garden very quickly.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Although the harvest time is here there is no time to stop weeding the garden of our minds. This garden needs constant attention in order for us to flourish and be all that we can be. The only way to keep this garden in top shape is to make sure that no weeds are there trying to strangle any good we are trying to do. The weeds of our mind, of course are negative thoughts that like to creep in and keep us from achieving that which we are striving for. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; William James said, &amp;quot;Human beings, by changing the inner attitudes of their minds, can change the outer aspects of their lives. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; How do we change the inner attitudes of our minds? By changing the way we think. We must put fear and negativity behind us. How, you ask? Just as the leaves of autumn gently blow from the tree, don&amp;#39;t try and make a change in your thinking over night and expect to get instant results. We cannot rip these thoughts out of our minds, as much as we would like to sometimes. No, we need to be gentle on ourselves and let positive thoughts replace the negative. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Yes it will take some work on your part. You must constantly fill your mind with positive thoughts. Proverbs 27: 3 says, As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he. We are what we think. When the negative thoughts come into your mind, you must be ready and willing to replace those thoughts with positive ones. Just say to yourself, no, I won&amp;#39;t let that thought take over my mind, I will think positively. Affirmations are good to have readily available so you can replace the negative thought with the positive one. It won&amp;#39;t be easy, it won&amp;#39;t be hard either, it will just be different, like that new pair of shoes we were talking about earlier. &lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; The autumn leaves fall to make way for new life. We too must go through changes that will bring new growth to our bodies, souls and spirits.&lt;br&gt; &lt;br&gt; Change is inevitable, so why fight it? Why be afraid of it? Yes, change will require us to do a bit of readjusting but it is always worth it.
